Helpful Tips for Post-Holiday Clean-Up

By Storbox Self-Storage on December 28, 2012 - Comments off

Although it’s been said many times and in many ways, the holidays are a festive and fun time of year when family and friends can let bygones be bygones and focus on what they like and love about each other while giving gifts, eating (hopefully) good food, and drinking delicious drinks. But when the holidays are over, reality rears its occasionally ugly head to let you know that it is now clean-up time.

Cleaning up after the holidays, especially if you go all out with Christmas decorations, can be a pain, but as long as you have a process and know the following things, you’re set: Read the rest »

How STORBOX Can Help You with Your New Year’s Resolutions

By Storbox Self-Storage on December 26, 2012 - Comments off

It’s that time of year again where everyone decides on what their New Year’s resolutions are going to be. They can be big, like “I’m going to exercise at least three times a week” or “I’m going to start my own business”, or they can be small, such as “I’m going to floss everyday” or “I’m going to stop eating eggplant.” In any case, depending on what your New Year’s resolutions are this year, STORBOX may be able to help.

Be Healthier

If your goals are to improve your health, you would probably do things such as adjusting your diet and start exercising regularly, but did you know that having a self-storage unit can help you improve your health? One of the first things people do when turning over a new leaf is get rid of or hide anything that could tempt you to revert back to unhealthy habits. But having those things in the house is still a temptation. If they are farther away, it would be easier for you to stick to your new goals. So why not put them in self-storage? No perishables, obviously, but that cotton candy maker should probably go. Read the rest »

The 12 Days of Self-Storage

By Storbox Self-Storage on December 21, 2012 - Comments off

The winter holidays are a time for being with family and friends, decorating, eating too much, and, of course, singing those holiday songs that just make the season bright. One of our favorite Christmas carols is “The 12 Days of Christmas,” but we think the traditional carol could be made even better, so here it is with a little bit of STORBOX Self-Storage flair! (Feel free to sing along)

“Locally-Grown” Makes a Difference, and Not Just for Produce

By Storbox Self-Storage on December 7, 2012 - Comments off

When you go grocery shopping, you may have noticed that a lot of the fruits and vegetables you buy will be identified as “locally-grown” or have their state/country of origin identified on their label. The benefits for locally grown produce include: fresher fruits and vegetables, support for local/state economy, and even reduced environmental impact, since the produce does not need to travel far. Less truck, plane, or boat travel reduces pollution. “Local” is also important for business, not just food.

Small Business Support

A small business is better than a monstrous national corporation and if that business is local, it offers even more benefits. The customer often gets lost in the size of a large “we have locations everywhere!” business. The owners of the business may spend so much time trying to make sure the operations of each location is running the way it should be that they forget about customer service and that “personal touch” that makes customers feel like the business actually cares about them. Retrieving Your Christmas Decorations from Storage

By Storbox Self-Storage on December 5, 2012 - Comments off

Christmas and the other winter holidays are getting closer (hooray!), which means it is time to bring out those holiday decorations. If you will be heading to your self-storage unit at STORBOX or another self-storage facility, there are a few things to keep in mind to make sure that you can get in, get out, and get things back in hassle free.

First, make sure you know your facility’s holiday hours. You don’t want to show up at your storage facility and realize that they are not open. Retrieving your holiday decorations with plenty of time to spare before the holidays will make sure that you don’t get caught in the holiday hubbub on the roads and even at your storage facility. Aside from seven holidays throughout the year (including Christmas Day and New Year’s Day), one of STORBOX’s key features is that we are open seven days a week with a convenient range of hours.
