At Storbox, we do not only provide safe and secure storage units for our customers, we also provide a free moving truck rental. What more can you ask for? (For those of you who would like to ask for free self-storage, we’d like to emphasize that that was a rhetorical question.)
Some people, however, may not want to use a moving truck when transferring their items to our facility. Rather, they may prefer to use their own vehicle. To make your move as simple and uncomplicated as possible, it is important to not only take into account the most efficient ways to pack and store your items, but how to move them in a safe and proper manner.
- Watch Your Back – While lifting and carrying your boxes, even a short distance, it is important to lift with your legs, not your back. When lifting an item, bend your knees and keep your back straight to lower to the ground, then lift with your legs while keeping your back straight and stomach muscles tight. DO NOT bend over and lift with your back.
- Clear a Path – Do not walk across a cluttered floor while carrying items; you will most likely not be able to see everything in your way. This can easily lead to a trip and fall, which will not only damage your items, but lead to injuries. Read the rest »
