There are many observed holidays in the U.S. and one of the vaguest ones happens to be coming up on Monday, September 2 … Labor Day. Not many people know what Labor Day is about as it is one of the lesser-known (and not as festive) holidays. Luckily, we know all about Labor Day at STORBOX and want to pass on the information so everyone knows what they’re commemorating on Monday.
The Meaning of Labor Day
Labor Day is a holiday always celebrated on the first Monday of September, which came about during the labor movement in the late 1880s. It is dedicated to the economic and social achievements and contributions of American workers to the prosperity, strength, and well-being of the United States.

Seeing as Dionysus is the ancient Greek god of wine and wine-making (and partying), we have a feeling that he would be very happy with The Wine Grotto. What other feelings would the god of wine have for a dedicated and specially designed storage space for wine?
Dionysus may be a little peeved at my saying this, but though wine and wine making was prominent in ancient Greece and then Rome, it was not necessarily the beginnings of wine.
A Bit of Wine History
Wine has been around for thousands of years and started around the time agriculture and sedentary civilization began. Archaeological evidence would suggest that the earliest (known) wine production began around 7000 BCE in what is now the country of Georgia.

At STORBOX, we have a deep respect for packing materials. They are what keep your belongings safe and sound while moving or transporting them to and from your home and self-storage unit. But we realized that we have covered the history of the cardboard box, the history of bubble wrap, and somehow neglected packing peanuts! (Sorry peanuts, we didn’t do it on purpose).
Like other packing supplies, packing peanuts too had a beginning, and so, once upon a time, there was a company called the Dow Chemical Company and one day, one researcher (or a team of them, we can’t be sure) had a brilliant idea, probably born from a horrible moving experience: what about making a small piece of foam that can fill all the empty spaces in a box to cushion what’s inside?
