One of the questions we’re often asked is: “What’s the best way to store breakable items?” This is a great question. We know that something like your grandmother’s fine China or your wedding champagne flutes are very special to you. If they broke, it would actually hurt you. So, how do you protect something important to you that is so breakable?
Here are some steps we recommend taking if you’re going to be packing up delicate, easily breakable, items:
• Wrap your vulnerable item with a LOT of bubble wrap. (We’re not kidding about this part. The more wrap, the better. We recommend wrapping them with enough bubble wrap that you can’t see your item through the wrapping.)
• Place your wrapped item in a box it will snugly fit in. The more snug the fit, the less chance of your breakable item getting bounced around while moving (or in an earthquake). Packing newspaper into the box will help cushion any blows.
• Make sure to seal your box up tightly.
• Find a quality self-storage location you trust. (This is where STORBOX comes in!)
We here at STORBOX understand that if you go through all the trouble to wrap something like a mummy, it’s important to you. That makes the items in your storage unit important to us.
