Say it with me … Climate Control! I’ll give a moment for cheering and applause …
When you’re storing something you don’t care about, the presence of air conditioning doesn’t matter. But when it is something that has sentimental value or at least something you hope to pass on to someone else, you want to make sure it doesn’t fall apart in storage (if it is really old though, you may not be able to avoid that). Ultimately, if you are only storing temporarily while you move or until you have the time to have a yard sale, you may be fine with a traditional storage unit without climate control. Even without climate control, our traditional storage units at STORBOX are still as cool as they can be. We’ve installed a COOL roof on our entire facility to ensure a cooler environment.
For more permanent storage, or for the temporary storing of sentimental items, a climate controlled unit may be your best option. This is especially important for items made either wholly or partly of fabric or leather. Fluctuations in temperature could have a damaging effect on clothing, linens, furniture, and other such items.
If you want to see it again, or you want to give it to someone, whether it is your children or even a friend, climate control would probably be your best bet. And let’s not forget that if you are a small business owner who will be spending a lot of time in your storage unit dealing with inventory and/or paperwork that climate control would make sure you are the most comfortable.
