One of the best ways to celebrate Easter with kids is to have them participate in an Easter egg hunt. Some people use real colored eggs, in Easter tradition, while others use plastic eggs with goodies, like chocolate eggs or marshmallow Peeps, inside. But either way, parents often go out of their way to hold fun annual egg hunts for their children.
One year they may hide the eggs throughout the house, another in the front yard, another in the backyard, yet another at the park, and one year they may even get the whole block involved and hide Easter eggs among the neighbors’ yards.
Once you’ve used the neighbor’s yards, you start scraping the bottom of the barrel for new ideas to keep each hunt unique. You don’t want to hold an Easter egg hiking hunt, because, well, you’d rather your kids not get eaten by a startled mountain lion or bear; and you don’t want to hold an Easter egg hunt at the beach, because if you buried Easter eggs in the sand, well, do I really need to explain why that brilliant idea wouldn’t work?
So where do you hold next year’s Easter egg hunt? Easy, your self-storage unit! You can hide eggs in the pockets of stored jackets, behind couch cushions, in boxes, under lamp shades, and any other nook or cranny you can find amidst your stored possessions. You could even include memorabilia in the hunt so that your kids can hunt for eggs down memory lane. Just be sure to make a note of everywhere you hide an egg. You may want to use plastic eggs, just to be safe, seeing as perishables should never see the inside of your self-storage unit.
