Why drive to a crowded location surrounded by strangers when you can ring in the New Year with your friends at home? Hosting a New Year’s Eve party is a great way to avoid the traffic while making memories right where you live.
Here are a few tips to help you host the perfect New Year’s Eve Party.
Invite Your Friends to Bring Food
Your food and drink selection will benefit from having a diverse group of people contribute. Your friends probably want to bring something, so encourage them to help out. No hosts should feel obligated to handle all of the food preparation on their own. Have one friend bring vegetables, another can bring a dip, and so on.
Serve Finger Foods
One of the downsides of hosting a party is the clean up. If you stick to finger foods, at least you’ll avoid having to wash silverware. Also, your guests will be able to eat while standing if they don’t need a fork to eat the food.
Choosing the Right Food
As the party goes on, the food will cool off. Unless you want to spend your party in the kitchen, it may be best to select foods that taste great at room temperature.
Keep it Simple
It is probably best to keep your drink options simple. Offering beer, wine, and soda is often all you need. Stocking your bar with mixes and liquor can be extremely expensive and mixing drinks is not always easy without training.
Make Your Party Unique
It can be fun to give your party a theme. Advise your guests on what to wear, such as all black and white, ’60s style attire, or something more specific to your circle of friends. Hinting at a dress code can be a fun way to make your party stand out.
Happy New Year!
